Had the same problem with the VSV solenoid being busted on my 89 turbo. Searching on the net, came around this post
http://www.supras.com/06/techcenter/display.php?QID=58 . The part costs around $35.00 from Toyota (for Camry). It is the same solenoid, but the connector is different. Just cut the old VSV connector/wire as close to the VSV as possible and solder two standard female connectors (like the ones used on speakers) and you are good to go on the freezing cold.
