Lube the bolts with a quality, molybdenum grease. As for the pits, how long was the composite gasket in place and did the gasket's reinforcement rings leave impressions around the cylinder bores and oil and coolant jackets?

If 1) there are no impressions
2)and the bores do not have impressions
3)AND the block measures as still flat and true with a machinist straight edge
4)and the teeth marks are all outside of the contact area of the new HG's reinforcement rings
then you should be completely safe to just give the block a very good lapping with a precision lapping plate and finer and finer grade diamond lapping compounds. This doesn't remove too much material and results in a very fine finish.
