Saw a European spec Supra today for sale
Saw a European spec Supra today for sale in St. Petersburg, FL. It's a 1987 non-Turbo automatic with tatga top and a wing but no TEMS. It has 113,000 miles on it from the original owner that imported it to the US. I noticed some of the differences right away.
It has a different climate control with centigrade temperature and sliders for controls. The steering wheel was rubberized plastic instead of the usual leather. It has folding side mirrors and the running lights in front have a outward bump. The driver's seat is non-electric with manual controls. The sun visors were different they did not have a mirror or lights. The trunk area did not have a lift up to hide the tire. The trunk carpet had a bump in it and 1/2 Tire was in the bump. One thing it did have was a G295 differential code which means it has a 4.10 ratio Torsen. It may not have come with a factory alarm because it looked like it had an aftermarket setup. The engine would not crank because of some issue with the wiring harness in the aftermarket alarm? The widow of the original owner wanted $3,500 for it. The paint for the most part looks in good shape except for clearcoat peeling on the wing and stone chips on the front bumper. It has a leather/vinyl interior and the front seats looks in good shape but the tops of the rear have been gotten at by the sun and are dry and cracked. One of the folding mirrors is damaged but can be moved manually. The engine splash pan is missing and the engine bay could do with the good cleanup. It also has no EGR system, so a little more power. The ID tag in the drivers door a metal sticker that is different from a US market Supra.
