Yes it's an 89 cressida. That's what i was going to do is just jack up the engine during removal.
I'm actually using the mk3 supra Haynes repair manual for the Cressida tranny removal. I figured the steps would almost be identical.
It does say remove the steering gear housing for the supra but I don't see the point. I also removed the w58 from my ma70 without removing the steering gear housing but it's just a parts car so I'm not going to be driving it and I didn't know if by not removing the steering parts if it would have any repercussions. i just didn't want to mess up the steering..
