I'm going to move this to the non generation specific forum as this post doesn't state what year or generation the car is.
Most likely the brake fluid level has fallen below the minimum level, triggering the light to turn on in the gauge cluster. The change in level could be from seepage or a leak, it would be best to investigate further to ensure you don't have the beginning stages of a safety issue.
