Temp gage sender - still working after disconect
I have a 87 TURBO that Ive had since new !
I have a strange problem with the TEMP sender gage on the Thermostat housing . If im not mistaken .. the sensor that returns signal to the DASH is a single metal spade that fits on a single spade on the sensor. the round blue one is for AC thermostat fan on radiator, the square green on side is for the ECU on startup and control. and the top one is the Cold start Time sensor ..
My question is this .. after burping my system after hearing this gurgling sound for years.. and having the scare of a BHG symptoms .. ( I don't !!)
I now have NO AIR in my system to cause false reading on spiked temp ( happens when gas( hot steam ) is touching thermistor and not the cooler water.... for you non -techies.
this is the puzzle :
When I disconnect connector from the sensor .. THE TEMP INDICATION REMAINS constant .. IT DOESNT FALL DOWN TO ZERO. !!
I have not started it cold w/o it connected and then connected after word. so I don't know if it works in reverse. But
If this was the sender to the gage it would read nothing .. so what's UP >>???
Is the Jedi FORCE sending a signal with no copper wire connected ??
