changing from hardtop to targa will cost you a significant amount of dough.. since you are altering the chassis itself...a hardtop was built as a hardtop pretty much its structural rigidity comes also from teh roof...which connects the front to the back....teh targa on teh other hand...is built sort of like a convertible...where when teh roof is off theres nothing there, so the a-pillars are beefed up therefore making the car a little heavier...if removing a hardtop and making it a targa...u will disrupt the rigidtiy of the car making it a little more...flexible....more like the targa version....if you still want to do it.. u will definitely need a professional to do it...the cutting of the chassis, and weather seals, the latches...i can honestly say it wont be an easy job for whoever does it...u will feel that the handling characteristic will drop, i dont know how much but it wont handle the same...even if you adjusted your suspension
