the bung for the 90 elbow might be for the O2 sensor, basically the same thing. cept the ecu gets that signal. but anyways egt gauge is nice because it lets you read the temp of the exhaust gases at the turbo, so if its on the high side , your running lean, (bad) and if its on the lower end , your running rich (good) egt gauges are nice because they react faster than say an air/fuel meter?
there is more power created when your running lean, but its not good in the long run. tends to ping (knock) and can detonate the motor. especially under higher boost..
