My '89 had a brass tank, 2 row. It blew, split the tank seam open. 2 years ago I got an aluminum core with plastic tanks for $120 from 'radiators.com'.

It has the auto trans cooler built in.

I live in the Mojave Desert, 105*+ summers. A/C on day & nite. I ran a small trans cooler out about 6" in front of the a/c condensor, using some brackets I fabbed.

I run the trans oil into it 'before' the radiator, to take some heat out of the fluid so it won't heat up the engine coolant as much. Everything runs very cool.

Also, there are brass ones out there. Check around on the net. They are about 50% to 100% more $$.
