#1 this forum is very much alive compared to the day i came here... so really i think it's made quite a lot of progress

( a ) all 86-92 turbo or non turbo supras are 24valve
( b ) yes the head gasket really is a problem, but if you get the head checked, new toyota hg and arp head studs torqued to 72ftlbs you won't need to add it in on your oil changes as part of maintenance
( c )the mid 89-92 turbo supras came with 232hp whereas 87-88 turbo supras came 230hp.. so no.. 89 supras are not faster than 90/91
( d ) they last as long as you look after them, oil changes, trannie oil changes, filter, never run low on oil, never thrash when cold etc etc if you look after them they'll look after you, generally i've seen them get to 150-180k but head gaskets are usually well on their way by then or have already been repaired, i would just start organising the parts you will require for the hg... unless of course the previous owner has already done it
