I would just go to the parts store and buy a K&N stock replacement filter. It goes right in the original box, flows better and won't get wet.

As far as exhaust, the best way to go is with a good header and a larger, less restrictive exhaust system. The header will give you the best gains. Look for a good quatlity header, one with a good coating. The six cylinder sounds much better than a 4 cylinder engine, but if you can still get too annoying with the exhaust noise resonance inside the car with not a good enough type of muffler.
