I hope you don't have a case of rod knock (spun bearing).

Different people have different opinions, and mine is to go with the oil that is recommended for the car.
Thicker oils don't flow as well as thinner oils and oil flow is important.
Don't want to start a debate on all that but many do feel as I do on the topic.
I do like to question things in hopes for improvement, but I do so mostly when I know full well the reason why things are the way they are and what the Toyota engineers were thinking, instead of just ignoring their recommendations without much basis to do so.

Keep in mind that they may not all sound the same and may sound even more differently in front of you than by this recorded file played by your computer.
