two big twins, HP monster, but not very driveable, big single, better spool than the big twins, but not as high power delivery due to turbo restricting (not unless your pulling big power though). twin medium turbo's, not as big HP, but better drivability.
depends on what you want.
once again, plumbing for a biggish single turbo is a lot easier than two twins. if designing twin turbo setup, you need to build the manifolds to mount two turbos, not much room, so design will be a problem. then you have to find room to fir twin external wastegates, then you have water and oil feeds, returns, intake pipes to the turbo, intake from the turbo, exhaust away from the turbo.

btw, 8/10 turbo upgrades in america are single turbo conversions, japanese are more common to doing twins.
