Find an exact replacement for your car (7MGE or 7MGTE) and stick with what your car came with. You can go through the trouble of a conversion if you can afford it and do enough research, and maybe have some help. Im kinda of the opinion that if it came N/A leave it that way, if ya want a turbo, buy a Turbo car.
Anyways, ya didnt tell us what yours is. Buy a replacement motor, get yourself and engine stand and a place to work. do some legwork as to who can do the machine work in your area. READ! READ like mad about rebuilding engines, about our engines in particular. There is no need to re-invent the wheel. Find out waht others have done and decide what suits you. Then dig in, take your time, buy the proper tools you need to do each job if it calls for em.
And most of all, enjoy the process!
Oh, and baby your car until your ready to put the new engine in!
