it'll work the same.
There's plenty of room in the corner to do that. It may take some thinking, and creative fabrication, but it'll work.
It has nothing to do with the "hot air cooling down before it hits the filter"
The heat shield redirects hot air away from the filter area.
The shield, and get this, actually shields the filter from heat!
Trust me, it works.
It works a thousand times better than putting your air filter above the manifold and next to the fan, where it gets 195* air fanned onto it.
