2nr, Its not the radiated heat that matters, its where the air flow is coming from. That shield has such a small surface area its not gona do crap to heat up the air any more than it would be anyway from where its gona suck it up from. And i do agree with supra90, it could move over a bit, But the argument over what material it is is pointless. And another thing, If you knew how conductivity really worked, The only thing the material is going to affect is how long it takes to heat up. Plastic/composite will get just as hot as the metal would, itll just take 5 or 6 mins longer. Its not like your trying to keep an ice cube from a 10000 degree heat source, You just want to stop the flow of air from the hot side, And make it come from the cool side.
