Why not put your existing auto tranny on the 2jz-gte?

Is the 2jz-gte front clip from a Supra or an Aristo? If it's not a Supra, you'll have a bunch of work associated with adapting it to the Supra, including (but not limited to) the fact that the oil pans are very different. Also, is the ecu included?

Although it only takes an experienced shop about 3 hours to pull an engine (6 hours total, if it's a Supra/jza80 2jz-gte, for the engine swap itself), your biggest challenge will probably be related to the harness. The jdm harness is for RHD, and you'll need the jdm ecu to control the 2jz-gte engine. Your oem non-turbo harness will not work with the jdm ecu. Getting a new us-spec turbo harness from Toyota (about $800+shipping) would probably work.

If you decide to do the tranny swap, it'll be a lot of work ... pricey and very time consuming. More info on that here:

NB: Please consider posting any help requests in a new thread instead of asking me for help privately. About 99.9+% of the time, private help requests end up covering great information that could be very valuable to other forum members. If you have a good reason for needing the help request to be private, I'll consider it. If not, then why not give everyone else the opportunity to pitch in too, and/or learn from the information? Remember, there's no such thing as a dumb question. We're all here to help within this family of Supra owners.
