I know where your coming from Scruffboy, nice straight polished ally pipe with a big air filter, I ve seen it so many times before. The thing that worries me is, if Toyota with their millions of dollars and resources didn’t think of it before, makes you think why. The bulge on the N/A I believe is an air reservoir and resonator designed for that reason. The Turbo has no bulge but the hard black nylon pipe was designed for a similar reason. The problem with the Supra is because of their age (and they are normally high mileage vehicles) any modifications to increase power will no doubt shorten the life of the engine. My first Supra I bought from new in 1986 I owned it for 15 years I done 250,000 miles when it was written off in an accident. Three BHG`s but no other problems and no modifications. I'm on my third now hopefully another 15 years of pleasurable driving.
