Default Flatout Gaskets

I was doing some researchin the head gasket department and i found a copper gasket with layers of rubber on it to help seal. I was wondering if anyone has heard of these. ( http://www.flatoutgroup.com/gaskets/gaskets.asp ) i have neither the time nor the money to get both the head and block lapped so thought this might help if I only got the head machined. It says they are supposed to help seal everything??? I was also wondering if the copper could hold up to the heat. It says that it can withstand drag car temps... I am somewhat of a supra n00b so dont bash me.

edit: they are metal with the rubber coating... not copper. I still wonder if it will work without the block being lapped?
