yes all that big barrel shaped thing is is a resonator, keeps sounds from coming out of the engine.

while on the subject, will that also play a role in the acis? i read acis had to do with sound coming from the valves and the timing of the acis to create a supercharger affect, am i correct so far? so if the resonator is to keep sounds from coming out of the engine via the intake, would that interupt the process of the acis? i may be way out in left field but just curious. sorry
