Max pressure represents the maximum amount of pressure the tire can safely hold at the weight specified on the tire without possibility of explosion. Running to the Max will lead to overinflation, unless your car weighs something close to what the tire says on the sidewall right next to the Max Pressure setting. I run 38 PSI. They're firm, but not so full that you cause premature treadwear down the middle of your tread. I've had nothing but perfect treadwear thus far. And your max for your rears is a little higher because you have a shorter, thicker sidewall as opposed to your fronts. By the way, I noticed that you have an Unlimited Z speed rating... What kind of tires are you running?
