coolant everywhere
so yesterday i was workin on the supra and i wanted to see where a leak was coming from. i jack up the car found that its leaking from the power stearing pump. what got me is that the fluid was red so i thought it was transmission fluid, so i am happy that it wasnt trans fluid. either way, when i was done i start the car rev it a few times from the pass side under the hood then put some tools away. come back and rev it again from the drivers side this time (luck) and get it to about 4k and then steam just started pouring from the pass side of the engine. run into the car and shut it off and i'm wondering wtf. i wait for it too cool off a bit, then im looking at the radiator hoses and they are ok. i squeze the lower hose and i hear water gushing somewhere. look under the dist and the little hose blew open. son of a *#@!% i knew i needed new hoses but i never even saw that there were small hoses under the dist. o well at least it didnt happen while i was driving the car other wise i would have gotten stranded or something. and i'm also happy that it didnt explode in my face when i was reving it from the pass side would have gotten a nice bath in coolant + the coolant that hit the exhaust steamed up.
just thought id share
