I'd qualify that statement by reminding folks to always run a sufficient amount of octane to match your boost level. The 2jz is only indestructible as long as you obey this rule. If you don't (i.e. if you run too much boost for the octane level of fuel you have in the tank), you'll destroy any engine, regardless of how much $$$ you spend on the internals. Eg. With the oem ecu (i.e. with the oem timing curve), 18psi on 91 octane pump gas (US spec) will destroy the engine bit by bit. Detonation will gradually take small chunks of metal out of the pistons and head until compression is severely affected.
The story is actually more complex than that simple rule if you're running an aftermarket ecu (eg. AEM). You still have to observe the rule, but there is a bit more flexibilty if you can retard the timing curve.
