Please allow me to clarify.
I'm not trying to give anyone a hard time.
I'm trying to light a fire under your ass to get involved with your car.
I am passionate about supra. My comment for you to learn about your car along with the rest of us was simply an invite hoping to get you to spend more time here in the forum. Any forum.
It doesn't matter how old you are. This is my 1st supra it's my 1st project car. It doesn't matter what you know about domestic mechanicing. Because these cars are a breed all in their own.
I have owned my car for a little bit over 2 years. I drove it 3k miles changed the oil and the hg blew in another 500 miles.
You have to research so that you atleast know the discrepencies in the tsrm or you're just hurting yourself and your car.
I know I seem to be just a prick. The fact of the matter is. I am retired Marine Corp. And this is how I motivate.
I'm sorry it came off such as it did. You didn't know important things you need to know before you even tear into the car to replace the hg.
It messes me up to see guys that have been in this community as long as myself that haven't done the homework. You can't skip it.
It has to be done or you're just digging a hole. And your car won't last if you are relying souly on forums for help. Because it's just like spud says. Everyone has opinions on things and you as the question asker has to be able to read between the lines to get your car fixed.
Another reason I am so adamant about research is because I had a guy a while back at another forum. He didn't know he was even dealing with a turbo. HE thought the turbo was a fluid resevoir.
I don't want anyone making those types of mistakes.
I will say that I am sorry for coming across such as I did. When I mess up I'll say it. One thing I will not do is give you bogus information.
I don't post on every thread. I only post what I have been through with my car.
Now. I don't know about you cats. But my supra is a smart ass trickster.
I fix 1 thing and 2 new things break. My frustration in dealing with my own ride comes through in my posts at times. Again I'm sorry it came out the way it did.
