No. The threaded holes for the head studs are exactly the same in the 2jz-gte and 2jz-ge blocks.

Sorry, I have no idea about a 1jz head.

As you already alluded to in your next question, it's the cooling.

Honestly, it depends how much boost/hp you're planning to run.

Toyota hasn't released the metallurgy for the oem pistons...but it's a well-tested/proven fact that, with together with the oil squirters, they will handle 1100+rwhp through a 6spd (using aftermarket connecting rods... Fyi,the oem 2jz-gte connecting rods are 'only' proven reliable to about 850-900rwhp through a 6spd).

Note - I'll be out of town for a few days, so pardon the intermittent responses...

NB: Please consider posting any help requests in a new thread instead of asking me for help privately. About 99.9+% of the time, private help requests end up covering great information that could be very valuable to other forum members. If you have a good reason for needing the help request to be private, I'll consider it. If not, then why not give everyone else the opportunity to pitch in too, and/or learn from the information? Remember, there's no such thing as a dumb question. We're all here to help within this family of Supra owners.
