There is a very tough laquer type clear coat on them. I tried paint stripper on a wheel. LOTS & LOTS of work.

You could of had mine (the really nice set) for free........a month ago. The metal man hauled them away, as I was moving, and had no place to continue to store them.

I recommend leaving them alone until you can afford a nice set of wheels, even at $160 ea. (what I paid for mine), its worth NOT sittng for hours working on a set of wheels that I could not even give away.
