gonna guess here and say that you have a wiring fault. First sign is the dead battery. There is a switch you can buy (cant recall name but I will see if I can find it) that prevents your battery from being drained. It auto-switches. The bad thing is... now you have to hunt for what the problem is... no easy task that.

Wish I could suggest a magic answer, maybe someone else has seen something similar.
