Take off the rear trim pieces and inspect the cable connections there... if the two cable ends are intact then you'll need to look at the other end of the release cable and the lever up by the driver's seat. You may inspect either end first, but if you're planning on having the rear lock fixed then I'd start in the one place.
The lock cylinder you will need to take to a locksmith for cleaning up and restoring (if the cylinder isn't too worn). If they can't repair the lock get a quote and let me know how much they say... I may be able to help you find it cheaper.
