Well, don't blame ya if you do, but I'd go over it all one more time... you're missing something. If it's back firing through the intake either the mechanical timing is off or the plug wires are installed in the wrong order.... same thing's likely if it's doing it out the back too actually.

Make sure you do not over tighten the timing belt tensioner pulley, it will distort the #1 cylinder rather easily if tightened past specs. |
