where the shifter enters the gearbox there is a alloy plate roughly 6 inch's long ( 150mm ) mine is located at the rear of this plate ( mark2 ) the other version , somtimes called 'short shifter' is located in the middle of the plate. I'm not sure what yours is ! 93 mark4 is it?
i got a really freash box for 675 bucks, i did look around but there not as cheap as a few years ago. i had to move the shifter back, but it was no real trouble. i just noticed you in oz, what state ? i'm in victoria, maybe i can help? all you need is 14mm open end or ring spanner (if memory serves me correctly ),rtv sealant and a little shifter or 10,12 mm spanner. sockets are best for the job if you have them? ring around and get a quote on price for box !
