It depends really. The 1jz bolts in if you have the 1j bellhousing and r-154 trans, and it's the same if you use the 2jz with the R-154 transmission, it'll bolt right in as well. Little less space due to the 2j being a 3 liter, but there's really no big difference between the 1j and the 2j, as they're in the same engine family. Of course, you can't use the intake mani's or the exhaust mani's because of head differences, but there are tons of interchangeable parts inbetween the two, as well as some between the 1j/2j and 7m. Go check around on the 1jz forums or the supra forums, there are some good write ups and notes on the swap. Good luck, and watch out for the wiring.

Possible 2jz lower block swap in the works if I can't rebuild the 1j. So troublesome.
