Most of the GTE electronics are NOT at all compatible with the GE's nor are they interchangeable. You can't just plug in a GTE ECU and go.

Start with adding a fuel controller and a wideband O2 sensor and gauge so you can see what's really going on with the fueling and stop guessing... you're just going to kill that engine the way you're going at it.

I do recommend switching over to the GTE electronics though, a fair amount of parts involved, but it's tuned quite a bit differently.
