Based on this info, I'd now have to advise not to bypass the ODO; if re-flowing the solder joints doesn't fix the issue, then ideally the ODO should be replaced.

However, if the ODO is bypassed, it's possible that the waveforms from the tranny speed sensor are sufficient to trigger the ecu a very high % of the time (wthout wave form reshaping by the odo)....
