A 20 year old, never rebuilt engine? A 20 year old, had a head gasket bit nothing else engine? Or a completely rebuilt to OEM specs, top to bottom engine?

a) It's a grenade which came from the factory without a pin... no one can estimate when it'll pop... everyone just knows that it will.

b) Pretty much the same as 'a' but plently of people have taken them reliably to 350RWHP... not everyone was happy a couple months later though... and of course some people (very lucky ones) have squeezed much higher numbers out.

c) There's a guy over a SupraMania who's putting down around 700 on a fully rebuilt (to OEM specs) 7M-GTE. It's a strong engine when the 20years of abuse slack in the bearings are removed from the picture.

The R154 and the LSD differential are VERY solid and if in good shape will old 500+.... a rebuild is of course STRONGLY recommended beyond 350 to 400.
