Are you sure it's definitely blown & you're not just being told that by someone who knows you'll hear it's common and just take their word for it?
Not saying it's unlikely as it is the main cause of 7M engined cars being unloaded onto inexperienced hands. Who did your compression check, was the car thoroughly warm, all the spark plugs removed and at WOT and with as-new (and correct size) battery when the check was completed? All these factors can give a false low reading.
Also are there any other symptoms, there will usually be one or more symptoms that are a dead giveaway & if you search the site you should be able to more definitely diagnose/rule out the BHG.
That said, it's not the end of the world if it is blown and providing you repair according with the sound advice from trusted forum members here in conjunction with the TSRM
http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Librar...spx?S=FI&P=101 you should have no further worries once it's done & correctly torqued down to 75lb
EDIT-: Also, post your exact model, year, US/EUR/JDM spec, engine type (found on front right of timing belt cover) in your signature as this will help people give you more specific advice as you progress with the car.
