You don't need to drill anything there's a hole already there which the stock air box breathes through. A 3" 90 degree pipe will put the filter out of the engine bay and right below the headlight. You'll need a cheap AFM adapter (can be had off eBay for around $10 including shipping), a couple silicone couplers, hose clamps, one piece of aluminum pipe with a 90 degree bend and possibly one straight piece, and a "universal" filter with a 3" opening. If you really want to go all out wrap the piping that's in the engine bay with heat wrap or get it ceramic coated.
