Also....2 years after that air removal proceedure, I got a BHG. Note related of course !
So I knew it was the BHG because the waterfall would come back after a few days of performing the above proceedures. 3 times in a month. A chemical block test was finally done, and yes BHG.

After doing the valve job, I cut off the little 'dangly' thing on a new thermostat, and drilled the hole to 4mm. Put the thermo in with hole up top, and did NOT have to do the waterfall proceedure. It let the air bleed on thru when thermo was closed.

Also...leaving the waterfall sound will eventually cause the core to leak !!
Its called cavitation. The air gurgling around will eat away the metal. Same with certain failing water pumps. I've seen several pump housing insides eaten away.
