haha airbrush mermaid , and on the question of rebuilding the motor you have/size of rebore/costings etc, depends entirely on how bad you blew it, the nature of the blow up (can mean anything from spat cambelt to rods thru the bonnet!) and what other servicable but worn parts you may choose to keep in it...

to be honest if you're on a budget a cheap s/h motor isn't always a good idea since cheap usually means BHG (and possibly a disguised one at that if it's already out/the car's not running) so for my tuppence worth I'd say get the big bits of the motor stripped (head off, drop crank/rods/pistons) and then assess the damage & decide if it's better to rebuild or swap.

Even if it turns out to be scrap metal you havent lost a huge amount of time & will probably get more when you weigh the bits in if they're stripped and sorted into iron/steel/ally...
