Sorry ! A bit of bad info there ! Ok...the low speed resistor has an 'open'. This is a common problem with Supras. The 'fix' is found on SOGI site. I will tell you now, tho.
The resistor is on the heater box housing. Stick your head down and see it just above the passenger foot area. It it approx 3" x 1.5", 2 screws, and the wire connector. Unplug the connector, remove the screws, and carefully remove it (there are delicate wires on the inside area, so don't bang it around)
Once out, you will see the smallest spiral of wire has a break in it. Its from over use and gets hot, so it melted thru.
Carefully, with needlenose pliers, twist the 2 ends back together and solder them. (This fix lasted me for a year, then it burned thru in a different spot). Replace back into car in reverse order.
2nd time I removed the entire original damaged wire and used a piece of very small diameter stainless steel safety wire and made a curly piece and soldered it in. It will last forever now.
PS. You don't have to ad any ceramic stiffener to the curly wire, as was factory. Just make sure the curly's don't touch each other.
You can get some safety wire from any motorcycle shop, as bike use it on lots of bolts.(me...motocrosser for several years, lots of leftovers)
