Don't let anyone touch it that has not changed the clutch on an Mkiv Toyota Supra turbo before. The procedure for this car is unique - it has several key differences from most other makes & models. It should cost about $400 in labor if you take it to a reputable, experienced shop. On a lift, with a transmission jack and two people who know exactly what they're doing, it can be done in four hours.

Alternatively, with the right tools you can do it yourself on high jackstands in about eight hours (you'll need a buddy's help during the job at two points, for about 15 minutes each time). You'll need to study the steps ahead of time, and be sure you have *everything* ready:

P.S. Don't give these instructions to 'bubba' at your local tranny shop - I can promise you he'll mess it up. A Getrag 6spd transmission is about $6K from Toyota......

NB: Please consider posting any help requests in a new thread instead of asking me for help privately. About 99.9+% of the time, private help requests end up covering great information that could be very valuable to other forum members. If you have a good reason for needing the help request to be private, I'll consider it. If not, then why not give everyone else the opportunity to pitch in too, and/or learn from the information? Remember, there's no such thing as a dumb question. We're all here to help within this family of Supra owners.
