depends on what fiberglass and what carbon fiber you use will determine which is cheaper...i dont remember which of the fiberglass materials is cheaper....but i know that dry carbon fiber is cheaper...i think ill let you know, traction off teh line...has a lot to do with suspension and putting the power to the ground...a good set of shocks and springs or coilovers is a good start...also a good set of tires will get you the grip you need...shaving weight is definitely a plus...if your running a stock suspension setup it will be harder to put power to the ground since its a little soft you will be absorbing a lot of the energy that is used for launching, making the car more rigid is also good like antisway bars, strut tower bars, cross braces, or even a roll cage...assuming that you will be dragging competitively on a strip..
