Just curious by what you mean by blown cylinders. If the block can be bored out and make it usuable again then go for it. You will have a little heavier pistons granted, but the new the rings will be working in a perfectly round hole again and the weight difference will be offset byt the power you make. The say you can't beat cubic inches. I can pretty much guarantee you won't be gaining more than a few grams per piston, but that is why they make oversized pistons.
Make sure the cylinder isn't cracked anywhere though, your machine shop can do that for you. If it is, then is the time to look for another block. Since you may be looking at bigger pistons then maybe you might want to go for a more performance oriented piston, forged perhaps. This is a good time to have the block decked and the head checked out and made flat again.
It is never good to just fix a cylinder or two with these engines. If you are talking sleeves then that is an option, but they don't alway work. That is the time to find another block or another type engine for that car.
