+1000 for skilled labor without the skill.
Even the best techs slip up sometimes so give them the benefit of the doubt and give them a chance to find your dipstick or pay for a replacement or make good someway.
Good shops and honest people are still out there but it seems that so many shops around here hire inexperienced workers at minimum wage and then charge you professional labor rates then don't make good when the car comes back for the same problem or a problem caused by their "repair".
My supra is manual, I tried to find an "extra" trans dipstick i thought I had laying around to get the measurement but cant find it. I know a couple people with the automatic so if nobody posts it by tonight I will measure it and post it.
