The "whistle" sound is normal for a spooling compressor wheel. Thanks to the "big hole" in your intake tube, it is much more apparent.
That hole is allowing any dirt / dedris, in close proximity, to be sucked into your engine as well.
MAF? Perhaps you mean KVAFM?
At any rate, running the car with a hole in the intake and the AFM disconnected is not advised.
