For the Mkiv, the primary factor you have to keep in mind is that the car is more than just an engine. The Mkiv's braking system (calipers, abs), suspension, ignition, transmission, differential, etc., etc., etc. are all much more capable in the TT version than the n/a. Sure, you can slap a turbo on an n/a and make a few more ponies, but you will not end up with a TT. If you want a TT, wait, save up some more $, and get it. It'll be significantly cheaper in the long run to do this than trying to turn an n/a into a full TT.
