So I have a quick question, I hope.
When I do over 85mph for over 15 minutes, temp gauge starts to climb but doesn't reach red line, about two ticks away. If I just drive it under 85 mph, temp gauge stays at normal operating mark (about 1/3 on the OEM temp gauge). Coolant has been flushed and replaced, oil changed, filter changed. I'm not see any coolant leaks or losing any, as far as I can tell. I do have the flexlite electric fans instead of the OEM fan. So, I'm looking for any tips on where I should look or go to figure this out. Could it be the electric fans can't keep up with the higher speed to keep engine cool or is it somewhere else in the engine I need to check? Any help would be great here. Rob87 |

Forgot to add what I'm driving:
87 Turbo, 5 speed, not really any mods on it yet, just want it running right first. It does have an open intake and after market BOV and open/screen fiber hood. Rob87 |

Are you running your A/C while you're driving it and it is heating up?

In my 87 N/A manual it shows that the regular operating temp is anywhere for 1/4 to almost red lines on stock temp gauge. so from the sounds of it doesn't look as though its over heating~

Well that can't be right cause my temp guage never reached the red and my radiator was boiling so I don't think that estimate could possibly be correct as far near the red being normal.
