I am about ready to replace the head gasket if the bills dont get in the way I read alot of the forums and every says to buy a metal head gasket I found a hks head gasket it tells on the site bead metal head gasket for 7mgte-bead-1.2mm thick 86 bore is this a good buy it is $99, and will it last for just normal driving, and maybe some speed sometimes and will it fit the 7mge non turbo motor if it is for the turbo model

it just says metal bead head gasket is it real metal or probally a multi lared head gasket

you're wasting your money
get a stock head gasket and use Arp bolts sock em down to around 75-80lbs

Alright, You have the HKS beaded MHG. It's a good gasket. Should work well for you. There's this thing in this forum where everyone debates the mhg's.
I think because most people don't deck the block and only plain the head, is the basis of the argument, because in theory with out doing the block and the head, the surface isn't flat enough for an MHG. I lapped my block, I did it in the car even. Some would say that is wrong. But to the point. I had the head done completely. I used an HKS 2.mm stopper mhg. So atleast I'll never be accused of cutting corners or skimping on parts. I almost went beaded and wanted to spend more money than I needed too. I'm not done with my build just yet thanks to some of my vendors not working over the holiday. I'm down to a few pipes and som vac lines. Oil change then fire. EDIT: I used arp studs. Be e a utifull. |
