i have a 89 mk3 with a turbo 7mgte motor. i am wanting to swap the motor out for a 1jz. my question is, is it going to be a direct fit. Do i need to get the ecu as well for it. and if i were to replace the stock motor mounts with aluminum ones would that work and what are the advantages and dis advantages of them.

The motor mounts should line up
Not so sure about the crossmember, There's a lot of threads about this swap Its not that nobody has any input I guess they jus don't want to explain the whole thing once again Jus use the search feature, or try the faq section of the forum
