mk 3 puzzling question

so today, randomly, my supra decide to be stupid and not start. all the electronics still turn on and work but the starter won't even move. i believe there's a short between the battery terminal and the starter but i am not certain. can anybody help me figure out what it could be please. it would be very apperciated. thanks.

starterMy 1987 MKIII had the same problems. Today I pulled the starter*(NOT a simple task) and replaced the solenoid plunger and contacts. I'm pretty sure that will fix it.
Try this: Have your buddy rap on the solenoid/started housing while you are turning the key. The plunger gets worn dead spots after time (23 years for mine), and the contacts break. I found a repair kit on eBay pretty cheap. Good luck! |
