90 7MGE 195K, rebuilt at 130K, auto tranny, clean interior, faded paint = $2500

More I read these posts in here, the more I realize I got myself a nice little money pit car. I figured since the engine was rebuilt with Toyota parts, it is a clean two owner car with a high ranking car fax, and ran a lot better than any other car I saw in the price range I was doing well. I fear all these stories on blown head gaskets and other issues.

The car runs pretty well at this time. No leaks that I can see, but of course four days after I bought it I noticed the power steering resevoir was nearly empty and is all the sudden leaking heavily, nice. Can't wait to find out how much that will cost. Please god let Lucas stop leak work.

I am not impressed with the performance. The auto tranny is pretty weak, unless I manually shift it. otherwise it runs through all four gears by the time I hit 40 mph, wtf? At cruising speeds when I floor it, it casually drops to 3rd gear and is rather gutless. again wtf? Shouldn't it catch second gear and at least hit 4000 rpms or something to get some boost?

I would like to swap out the engine and put in something with more power, and switch over to a manual tranny, I guess, if I had what, say 5K? At least then I could keep up with crappy little new sentras.

I think you all can keep your MkIIIs. Not really impressed at all. Should have went honda or acura for crying out loud.
